I've dabbled in languages before for fun, and tried different languages and different techniques to figure out my own learning methods.

Now, I want to seriously focus on Spanish. I'm planning to go to South America in early 2013, and I want to have at least Intermediate level before that. So the goal is to put in some serious work for about 4 months.

I've joined this forum to hopefully be able to practice Spanish with people so that I can really use what I learn.

Just so you're aware, there's an 'Accents' drop-down menu found just above where you type. You can use it to select all the special characters you'll need when typing in Spanish, like the upside-down exclamation point. ;)
