Casa
This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for June 8, 2008
casa -feminine noun (la), house, home. Look up casa in the dictionary ¿Cuál es la casa más rara que has visto? What is the strangest house you have ever seen? |
Some expressions:
- En casa del herrero, cuchillo de palo. - El casado casa quiere. - Cada uno en su casa y Dios en la de todos. Hope you enjoy those ones. No se me ocurre nada más, no estoy muy inspirada hoy. But I'll keep on  |
En casa del herrero, cuchillo de palo (In the blacksmith's house: a wooden knife)
English version: The shoemaker's children go barefoot. El casado casa quiere. Married people need a home of their own. Cada uno en su casa y Dios en la de todos. Each to his own and God watching over everyone. |
Eres una máquina, Rusty.
|
Here's one that everyone's heard (in the US):
Mi casa es su casa. Make yourself at home. |
Another English expression: to be housebound. A tough one to translate...
|
Housebound = homebound = being confined to the house all day
confinado en casa Homebound can also mean that you're heading home, as in de camino a casa. |
I like your translation. And how would you say bedridden in Spanish?
|
echado en la cama
en reposo médico encamado postrado en cama :good: Y puedes añadir por la enfermedad, por la vejez, a causa del accidente, etc. |
