My Spanish isn't very advanced and as a social dancer I'm trying to work out tango lyrics for pleasure. I'm stuck on this particular phrase in a song at the moment and would appreciate any help:

Pero que hago si son como mil y yo con las mil

The way you isolated the text is fragmentary and doesn't make much sense.

In context, the verses say something like they (my girlfriends) are about a thousand and I can't marry all them thousand.

Exactly that.

And that is a waltz, not a tango.
