Hola Jamie,

Muchos de nosotros tenemos mascotas (pets) (animales domésticos). Yo tengo tres; una perra y dos gatos.

He corregido lo que escribiste arriba. Si tienes preguntas, háznoslas.

Rusty

(I got rid of the word 'some' (algún) in the sentences because this word isn't needed in the Spanish sentences you wrote. When 'algún' is needed, however, it has to agree with the noun - algún hombre, alguna mujer, algunos chicos, algunas mascotas.)

Gracias por los correcciónes. :)

What kind of dog do you have? Jamie's dog is a mixed breed. Is yours?

¿Es una tortuga o jicotea?¿Le diste un nombre?(Is it a turtle or a tortoise? Did you give the turtle/tortoise a name?)
¿Vds usan la palabra morrocoyo en México para jicotea?

I use tortuga both for turtle and tortoise, so I have just learned two new words.

Yo tenía una jicotea que era un vegetariano estricto. Perfería arándanos y berdulaga

Poli, Why do you wrote ROVER.? If I want to say river, RIO.

The River Tortoise.

The River Tortoise.

Rover was a typographical error. Sorry. River is the word.

I didn't understand the two words in between the question marks above, but I'll assume you meant to ask what do these words mean?

In order to answer your question well, I would need to see them used in a sentence. But, here is some information that may be helpful.

The contraction let's is the contraction of let us. It is used to form the first person plural form of the imperative tense. For example:
vayamos = let's go
comamos = let's eat
hablemos = let's talk

The verb let can mean allow (permite/deje). For example:
(deje) que vaya al parque = let him/her/it go to the park
(deje) que vayan al parque = let them go to the park
(deje) que vaya al parque = let me go to the park

The verb let is also used in the indicative form, and means the same thing (permit/allow). For example:
Ella me deja ir al súper. = She lets (allows/permits) me go to the supermarket.
¿Me da permiso para ir? = Will you let me go?

The verb set could be translated as poner/colocar. For example:
Set the table. = Ponga la mesa.
Set it here. = Colóquelo aquí.

It could be translated as establecer:
She set a speed record in her car. = Ella estableció un récord de velocidad en su carro.

There are many ways to translate this verb. Also, the words set and let can be nouns or adjectives.

Make sure you include sample sentences.

I thought you meant that it roves around looking for food. :)

If he's a Rover, chances are he's not a tortoise but a dog, and friend of
