Hi! I am a native spanish and I want to improve my english with english or american natives. I have not a fluent english and we could learn together: you could learn spanish and I could improve my english. I am a sensible and serious person and I want to learn while I´m teaching...I speak spanish (the spanish spoken in Spain, the original one)

Of couse you didn´t use Ñ letter but I understand...My name has an Ñ letter and I´ve had a lot of problems when I travel because sometimes, for example, I can´t book a flight or a hotel room with my name, so I have to use MARÏA, and then the name on the credit card is not the same as the one shown on my passport. What a mess!

Firstly...in spanish we never say ¡qué rico!, only when we are eating, for example an ice cream. Better you say....¡qué bien!. Qué rico is used in America.

A couple of notes from above.

"mother language" is not commonly used in America. We use "native language".
Capitalize Spanish and English to be correct.

" I thought I spoke a pretty english since I first travelled abroad..." - I am not sure what you are saying here.

Do you mean: "I thought I spoke English pretty well until I first traveled abroad" ? - That is what I think you meant, but I am not sure.

"I studied english a lot of years ago" :bad:

Depending on what you want to say:
"I studied English many years ago" or "I studied English a lot many years ago"

For the last sentence, do you mean "I like" or "I would like"?
"Me gusta..." or "Me gustaría..."?

Yes, I wanted to say "I thought I spoke English pretty well until I first traveled abroad". As you can see I have many mistakes.
Yes, for the last sentence I wanted to say: "I´d like".

Quería aclarar algo sobre tu puntualización acerca de la expresión "qué rico" (haciendo honor a mi nombre haha)

Es cierto que, ante la alegría por la contestación de un mensaje, encaja más adecuadamente la expresión que has señalado "qué bien!"

Sin embargo, "qué rico" sí es una expresión usada en España, y no en su variante de "qué sabroso" como sería tu ejemplo del helado; sino como un gesto de cariño o gracia.

En concreto, en sus acepciones 7)"Dicho especialmente de un niño: Bonito y a la vez gracioso, encantador. ¡Qué niños más ricos tiene!" y 8)adj. coloq. U. aplicado a las personas como expresión de cariño."

However, in the context used by "Animo", we don't say "qué rico" as Nativespanish correctly points out...

mmmmm....disiento.
Claro que ¡qué rico! es una expresión correcta, pero no en el contexto que decía ANIMO. Nadie dice: "¿eres español/a? ¡qué rico!". "¿Estudias informática? ¡Qué rico!"... Sí se utiliza cuando te refieres a un niño o cuando comes algo, pero en el otro contexto jamás lo he oído. Cuando he viajado por Sudamérica también he oído "¡qué bueno que viniste!" o "¡qué linda luces!". también son correctas esas expresiones pero aquí no se utilizan.

Donde sí se usa es aquí:

'Mambo, qué rico el mambo'
y
Cha-cha-chá, qué rico el cha-cha-chá

Que rico que encontré otro Chileno/a etc. nada raro.

Me gusta el ajedrez. Que rico, yo también juego ajedrez (ya tenemos de que conversar etc)

por eso dije...aquí (en España) no se utilizan. Jamás he oído "¡qué rico!" si no es refiriéndose a comida, a un niño o a un señor con mucho dinero.

Mal entendí la última parte de tu mensaje....
