Afraid to shoot strangers

Afraid to shoot strangers

Hey guys !

Does this have any particular meaning ?

I'm just asking because it doesn't make a lot of sense , as it is from a song that talks about politicians , I think.

In Spanish , that would be like "Miedo de disparar a desconocidos"

Thanks

Your translation is right. In context, perhaps, the words may have different meanings. If this is an American song, guns are a hot topic political topic.

I think you might be referring to the 1992 song "Afraid to Shoot Strangers." It is, from what I have read, a song about a soldier in the first Gulf War. There was quite a bit of opposition in the US to the first Gulf War--more to the second, of course, but in the first people were questioning it. And in general, the idea of sending someone to war is to ask them to shoot strangers.
