They didnt want us to go there alone, because it was already late. Ellos no querían que fuéramos allí solos porque ya era tarde. or Ellos no querían que fuéramos allí a solos porque ya era tarde. ¿Cuál es lo correcto? |

The order could be switched as I note. I would not use "a solas" in this context, not sure why, but Moliner defines it like this: A solas. Sin compañía, ayuda o intervención de otra persona: ‘Déjale que lo resuelva él a solas’. |
