Some practice sentences
I tried some basic translations with a sentence generator. Most were specifically formed for a certain tense. I have identified them so and otherwise when it was not tense-specific. Please point out mistakes. :crossfingers:
I read the children a story. (preterit) >> Les leí un cuento a los niños. I called him a taxi. (preterit) >> Llamé un taxi para él. They are not fighting. (present continuous) >> No se están peleando. Have you talked lately? (present perfect) >> ¿Se han hablado recientemente? I was feeling hungry because I had just played. (past continuous+pluperfect) >> Me tenía hambre porque había acabado de jugar. Mr. Hanson wasn't driving below the bridge. (past continuous) >> Señor Hanson no estaba manejando debajo del puente. Some managers read in front of the restaurant. (present simple) >> Algunos gerentes leen en frente del restaurante. Also, can someone provide some harder ones? Preferably containing non-indicative structure. :D |
My corrections for you:
I called him a taxi. (preterit) >> Llamé un taxi para él. O simplemente "Le llamé un taxi (a él)" They are not fighting. (present continuous) >> No se están peleando. O "No están peleando" I was feeling hungry because I had just played. (past continuous+pluperfect) >> Me tenía hambre porque había acabado de jugar. No. The correct form is: "Tenía hambre porque había acabado de jugar" Mr. Hanson wasn't driving below the bridge. (past continuous) >> El señor Hanson no estaba manejando debajo del puente. Very good. You have a good level. Congrats. |
