Como?
Hola!
I am shreya learning spanish at home. one sentence from the book i am not getting is, como sale el senor del cafe? please translate this. thanks shreya |
Welcome to the forums, Shreya.
There's an 'Accents' drop-down menu just above where you type. The menu contains all the special characters needed for typing in Spanish. Your book should have shown the question like this: ¿Cómo sale el señor del café? The characters in red have been corrected. Given this information, any good dictionary should provide the proper translation of the question. If you still have questions after consulting a dictionary, let us know. |
thanks Rusty,
I am not getting the exact meaning of sale & del. will you please guide? Shreya |
'Sale' is a conjugated verb, from 'salir'. It means 'leave' and is usually followed by the preposition 'de', which means 'from'.
'Del' is a combination of 'de' and 'el'. 'El' is the masculine, singular article. The combined form means 'from the'. So, 'sale del' means 'leave from the', and you'd expect to see a masculine noun following 'del'. Does that help you figure out the translation? Here's a web site you can use to enter a verb in its conjugated form and learn what its infinitive is. Or, if you know the infinitive and want to see all the possible conjugated forms, you can enter it. So, by entering either 'sale' or 'salir' you'll get the same results. |
