Hey everybody!

I thought this would be the perfect place to let everybody know of this great dictionary that I just bought at Costco. It translates English to Spanish and back again, so if you need to translate between the two languages this is a great reference book to have. Its from Velazquez Press and its their Spanish and English Dictionary. I hope this helped those of you still looking for a useful reference for translating purposes.

Welcome to the forums. It's great to have a functional hardcover dictionary. I want you to know, in case you are not aware of it, that
Tomísimo has a good dictionary (especially for American Spanish), and it
links to RAE (which is the official Spanish dictionary) as well as Webster's.
I have found it really valuable.

If you say "Webster's", you're referring to the Webster's Dictionary of the English language, which actually doesn't exist anymore, it's now Merriam-Webster.

Okis, David thanks for your answered.

Good morning.

Elaina August 01, 2008 08:39 AM

CrOtALito.....¿hay un diccionario en Mexico que es para uso de Inglés al Español y vice versa? España tiene el RAE, EEUU tiene el Miriam-Websters y muchos más pero me gustaría saber si hay uno en México, hecho por México, publicado en México, etc. Especialmente me gustaría saber si hay uno que hable solo de enfermedades y/o diagnosis.

Gracias de antemano por la información.

The same in Spanish:
Crotalito, ¿qué significa you're welcome?

CrOtALiTo August 02, 2008 03:37 PM

I'ven't said nothing Alfonso, Why do you ask me it.?

Your way to say thanks? Don't you think there could be an error on your way to speak English? Maybe you are not meaning what you intend to mean.
Don't you see that David said you're welcome as a response to your thank you? Then, what do you think you're welcome means?

En español:
¿Tu manera de decir gracias? ¿No crees que puede haber un error en tu manera de hablar inglés? Quizá no estás diciendo lo que tratas de decir.
No ves que David dijo you're welcome como respuesta a thank you? Entonces, ¿qué piensas que significa you're welcome?

You're welcome doesn't mean gracias.
You're welcome no significa gracias.

What does it mean?
¿Qué significa?

CrOtALiTo August 03, 2008 09:01 AM

Alfonso, please you forget it, now, I didn't know nothing, it's more meaning Bienvenido, ok, you're welcome(Bienvenido), bye.
