Liking
Hi
I was wondering if my use of gustarlo is correct here: That is not a reason for not liking it. Esa no es una razón por no gustarlo. |
Your usage of gustarlo is correct.
The demonstrative pronoun (first word) isn't needed. The preposition 'por' should be 'para'. |
Rusty, I don't think that it is correct.
I cannot think of a single way to put that into context. le, me te, fit perfectly, though. |
I agree with Rusty that the right preposition is "para", not "por". However, although I also find "gustarlo" a bit awkward, I think this would keep the impersonal expression from the original sentence in English.
@fglorca: Maybe I'd reformulate the sentence making a subject explicit (by means of a pronoun), but this implies using "para que + subjunctive": Ésa no es una razón para que no te guste. |
