My tee is bigger ...

My tee is bigger ...

I ran across today with a T-shirt (with a man inside) :D
The text
"My tee is bigger than yours"
Meaning?
In internet I also saw
"My Bass Is Bigger Then Yours Tee"

Meaning????

Thanks a lot :D

It sounds really nasty. I'm looking forward to knowing it... Isn't a tee where you play golf? A hole in the ground or something? I'm sorry I'm not very fond of hitting balls with a stick. Any golf player over there?

I don't read anything into this. Both shirts are saying something like "my dad's better than your dad." In other words, what I have you want.
"My tee is bigger than yours."
"My bass is bigger than yours."

In case you didn't know, tee is the same thing as a T-shirt. Bass (pronounced /beɪs/) is un bajo (a musical instrument). Or, bass (pronounced /bæs/) is una perca (a river fish).

Anyone remember this?

Anyone here old enough to remember the commercial "My dog's better than your dog. My dog's better than yours...." That's what I thought of with the tee (shirt) quote.

:D

tee = T-shirt OK
Thanks for the kick response.
We have a saying here (not a polite one) "culo veo, culo quiero" (When I see something other had, I want it)
it's like "grass is greener in the other side"

saludos

Thanks for the kick response. You meant quick, but kick is a good play on words. :)

Yep, I'm familiar with the impolite saying (it's in our idiom dictionary).
A milder version might be 'nadie está contento con su suerte'. I just tied the impolite Spanish saying to 'the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence', because that is one way to interpret the saying. It is also linked with 'to keep up with the Joneses'. All these sayings mean if the vecinos have it, we want it.

Marsopa pointed out that the old "my dog's better than your dog" commercials are good examples of the same idea - I have something you don't. :lengua:

I've also seen less polite sayings on T-shirts that are trying to communicate the same thing.

In golf, the tee is the little pointed piece of wood you place the golf ball on to hit it. To tee off is to begin a game of golf. The sticks you hit the ball with are called clubs. And that's about the extent of my knowledge of the game. :)

Thanks Rusty :D

Mine's bigger than yours is a kind of adolescent one-up-manship. It can refer to almost anything, but we all know what the original reference is. It can be used as a very mild joke (as in my tee is bigger than yours); oh, yeah? Well the fish I cought is bigger than your tee. Silly stuff.

Me dio risa.

Thanks a lot, David. I'll do it again (new corrections on red):

"My Bass Is Bigger Than Your Bass" could be making a reference to "fish stories". If you say you caught a fish that was 12 inches long, then more than likely, it was only 6 inches long.

This saying could also be reference to penis size. Men and their macho posturing! LOL They always want to have the biggest one. I'm not trying to inappropriate here but the shirt could have very well been implying that.
