And I hope this is not an inappropriate one!
I am working on translating a Spanish text. There is a man who several times refers to a group of men in a seemingly derogatory manner. He refers to them as 'barbas de chivo'. Calling them beards of goat, or goatees does not seem to fit the context. Am I missing something?

I see, this is a nickname for a man who wears or has worn a goatee. :)
