Three phrases and a verb to contemplate

Following is some of the Spanish that has made my "to practice at work list":

Algunos de mis frases favoritos de las dos semanas pasadas {some of my favorite phrases of the past two weeks}
  • Debes adaptarte al cambio {you should adapt to change}
  • Fuera de esto... {other than this... OR outside of this...}
  • Aprender por ti mismo(a) {learn on your own}
Un verbo de interés {one interesting verb}
  • Reprobar = This verb does NOT mean to retry as I first thought, it means to condemn or damn!

Any corrections or additional meanings (contextual or otherwise)?

Reprobar also means to fail or flunk a class (on this side of the world).
