Hello, this is my introduction!

Hello, this is my introduction!

¡Hola, usuarios del Tomísimo!

I've been searching the internet for a good Spanish learning community, and after several registrations, I think I've found right one, this one. It seems like this forum (and website in general) has a lot of activity, so that's just great!

My major interest has been computer programming and computer-related topics in general for quite a while, but I have started spending more time on languages, and my next project is Spanish. My native language is Danish and I'm somewhat fluent in English, and I know the basics of Latin, and Finnish. I've only been studying languages intensively for a couple of weeks, so I'm still quite new to this world.
I've chosen Spanish as it's one of the most spoken languages in the world and because I've been reading about Mesoamerica lately, and thought it would be fun to know Spanish, if I once will travel thither.

I will attend a so-called gymnasium (which, rough said, is an equivalent to the American high schools) where I will have Spanish on the highest level possible (which means that I will have Spanish for three years, each week). I thought a forum, such as this one, would be a good backup - and maybe will I even be able to make some friends? :-)

I'm looking forward to get to know you all!

¡Nos vemos!

Welcome!!

I'm glad you think this forum is great. Those are my sentiments as well. We're all happy to help you learn Spanish (as long as you don't ask us to do your homework for you ;)). Hope to hear a lot from you over the next three years!

Rusty

I've been on several programming forums for a long time, and I know too well how annoying it is, when people want one to do their homework for them, so don't worry, I won't ask you guys about it. The only person you cheat in the end is yourself anyway. :)

I really appreciate the warm welcome you've given me, thanks!

I'm a big fan of C/C++ and Python, and I do also have experience with other languages such as LISPs, Assembly and various scripting languages. I'm by no mean an expert though, and I have no educational background. Just my little hobby for the past years, soon to be replaced by natual languages, hopefully. :)

Sounds good to have a fellow programmer, and thank you for your welcome!

I wanted to welcome you too. Your English is great, I'm sure you'll manage to learn Spanish quite quickly as well. Try to start practising as soon as you can.
Bienvenido (ya sé que te lo han dicho todos los demás, pero no iba yo a ser menos).:)

Thanks, María, both for the welcome and the compliment! :)
