"The teacher has invited the parents to go into the school to do a workshop with the kids. It can be about anything, they could read a story to them or they could make something with them or they could tell them about what they do at work"

¿"invitar los padres a ir" es correcto o solo "ir" o "de ir", cómo se dice "invite the parents to go"?

The structure is 'invitar a ir' - invitar is always followed by the preposition when an infinitive is used.

... ha invitado a los padres a ir ...

You can place the indirect object elsewhere if you'd like.
