Honda should be spelled onda. Both are pronounced the same way, but mean entirely different things. It's like the difference between wholly and holy.

Oh, here's one more slight correction: del Estados Unidos should be de Estados Unidos or de los Estados Unidos. :)

What's honda,Rusty? I could use a dictionary but it's more fun asking you guys.;) Or maybe I'm plain lazy.:coffeebreak:

My dictionary says it's a sling.

Ok, you're right, but it sounds old-fashioned to me. As something you might find in a history book. I say tirachinas. But that might be only here in Spain.

Suavemente August 18, 2008 02:45 PM

I have a lot of work to do

You mean your job? Or are you referring to Spanish? Si te refieres al español, es cuestión de paciencia y perseverancia. Poco a poco. Rome was not built in a day.;)

sosia August 18, 2008 11:31 PM

"Honda" is the sling type David used against Goliath. It's no more in use (I suppose :D )
For the children, "Tirachinas", as Mari Jose says.
Saludos :D

Suppose and hope, I would add. Nice Biblical reference.:D

¿Qué onda?

Means - What's up?

Onda = wave (In what wave length are you?)

Suavemente August 22, 2008 06:07 AM

I guess the Mexican Spanish slang is killing all of you native Spanards.... I'll try to refrain from using it here.

sosia August 22, 2008 06:19 AM

No, use it, we learn.
Recently I learn Crotalitos "ni maiz palomas", it was fun.
saludos :D
