Hello

Hi everybody. I'm here so that I may speak better Spanish to my wife's family (Mexicanos) and friends and during my frequent travels in the great American southwest. Thanks.

Welcome, SouthwestDude. Check out our Idioms (or Modismos if you happened to choose this site's Spanish option - a good strategy, by the way) Section for some great sayings to spring on your in-laws there. Learning just a few of those sayings served me well with my own in-laws in Costa Rica. Good Luck!

Hola Southwest Dude. Bienvenido/Welcome to our forums.:)

If you need anything translated let me know. If for example
you're eating a dinner with your wife's family you would need
to know how to say and understand certain Spanish words and
phrases such as please pass the tortillas senora. Then you need
to know the Spanish words for fork, spoon, napkin, glass etc.
Plus stock Spanish phrases for polite dinner conversation.
Or if you go out to eat how to order a meal in Spanish.

Howdy partner!

How typical is that?

Welcome!

:)
