Quizá + subjunctive

Must we always use a subjunctive with ‘quizá(s)’ and ‘tal vez’ or can we simply use the future tense?

Maybe I won’t have money tomorrow:
• Quizás no tendré dinero mañana. (tenga)

Maybe I will use the gym today.
• Tal vez usaré el gimnasio hoy. (use)

Future tense doesn't sound natural to me. In both cases I prefer the present subjunctive. :thinking:

I think these expressions are always listed in grammar books as typical triggers of subjunctive. :)

I'm pretty sure they are. Textbooks generally state it as a rule that quizá, quizás, tal vez, etc., are always followed by the subjunctive.
