Hola estaba hablando con una amiga de mio y ella me dijo que no me heches mentiras. yo se que es pero porque ella le uso heches.

Couldn't "hablé" be used instead of "estaba hablando"?

Estaba hablando con una amiga meaning i was talking with a friend. I am sure the others on this site can tell you much more

Yes, but I thought the preterite should be used when saying you're talking to someone. The "I was talking" could also simply be said using "hablaba" without using the "estar"-verb, but I don't think the imperfect shall be used when saying you're talking to someone.

But I'm pretty new in the Spanish language myself, so yes, let's wait for someone who knows their way around it.

You can use both, "hablé" or "estaba hablando" or "hablaba", but it's better in this context "estaba hablando" because it's near in the past

Perhaps "echar" here it's another way to say "tirar"
"no te tires mentiras" it's a way to say "stop throwing/shooting lies"

Como dijo Sosia, eches se deletrea sin la 'h' al principio.

No me eches mentiras = don't heap lies on me (don't lie to me)
echar = to heap, add, throw, etc.
echa = command form, 2nd person (heap)
no eches = negated command form, 2nd person (don't heap)

When you friend told you it, he wanted told you don't lie me, the word ( No me heches mentiras) it are only way to speaks of the Mexicans, as idioms (Modismos), it's bad used but, as in all country we have distinct way to speak our language.

When I was a kid and studying spelling at school, my Mum taught me this mnemonic rule to remember there is no h in echar.It seems silly now, but it helped back then:
