Hola!

Mi llamo Krista. Soy nuevo aqui. Quise decir hola todos. Yo me enseño (o amaestramiento?) y todas correcciones están bienvenidas. Espero que todos puedan cifra por mi español malo. LOL Me tomó más que veinte minutos de escribir esto párrafo corto.

I wish I could hear someone say “párrafo” because I can’t make that word come out my mouth. If you guys heard me trying to say it you would be rolling on the floor laughing right now. LOL :p

¡Bienvenido a foros del Tomísimo! :)

I noticed some minor errors:
Mi => Me (me = nom.; mi = gen.)
aqui => aquí (a common spelling mistake)
enseño => aprendo (enseño = I teach; aprendo = I learn)

I think there's maybe more of them, but I'm a beginner in Spanish as well, so I'm not sure. :)

I never can get the mi/me thing right. lol I was trying to say "I am teaching myself spanish" so would I still need to use aprendo?

ElDanés September 04, 2008 07:22 AM

You will have to use me.

Me enseño español = Myself teach-I Spanish = I teach myself Spanish

Edit:
I noticed that I said mi should be me in my previous post. I meant yo, sorry. Yo is the nominative form.
So yes, your sentence was actually right. :)

Sorry about the confusion.

Welcome Krista!
I know what you mean about taking a long time to write. I wrote an email to my sister yesterday and spent about 30 minutes on it. I thought I'd have a whole page...alas, 2 paragraphs. I'm learning tons though, that's what's important!

Ooh, Crotalito will like the fact that you used lil in your sentence. He has always used it, but I've been trying to get him to use little, instead. You may very well win him over :), but, for my sake, let him know that it's only common in your part of the country.

CrOtALiTo September 04, 2008 12:41 PM

Ooh, I saw it, she also use lil for to say little, Rusty but the word little abbreviate to lil is more comfortable that write all the word complete. jijijiji very good supa-copa you and me, we are both in the same wire.

By in the same wire, did you mean en la misma onda? If so, the translation is on the same wavelength. :)

CrOtALiTo September 04, 2008 01:25 PM

Not, Rusty I've said wire, Hilo.

supa-coopa September 04, 2008 01:37 PM

I am normally gramatically correct when I write unless I'm trying to convey a bit of my personality. I live back in the sticks (a more rural place). AKA - Backwoods, Hicktown....

Example/Ejemplo:

We's just good ole country folk here. We don't always talk right. Grammer ain't suhm'in' we worry too much about. We say thangs like "Well, God love his lil pea pickin' heart"

Jeet yet? - Did you eat yet?
No, jew? - No, did you?
younguns - children
yourn - yours
You-uns - you all, I supposed this was derived from "you ones"
We say our r's very hard and all words spoken ususally have a minimum of two syllables.

I would like to make it clear that I am able to speak proper english despite what the above examples would imply. LOL
