Private email
We are classmates at uni/colleagues at a company, etc. We can contact each other by the uni/company email system; but if I want their email addresses such as of Google/Yahoo, etc. can I say this?:
-Could/Can you give/tell me your private (I'm not sure whether this is the correct adjective) email addess? |
How about "personal email"? (as opposed to "institutional email")
|
Could you give me your personal email (address)?
|
Thank you, Rusty. But as opposed to personal email addresses, what is that called? (the kind of email address you have as a member of a large body)
|
All email addresses have a local part and a domain part, with an @ sign in between them.
A personal email address is one that you choose to use for yourself, usually not as part of a larger entity, although the domain part is indeed a larger entity. For some of us, the domain is yahoo.com or gmail.com. For others, it may be the name of our ISP (internet service provider). We classify email addresses as 'personal' or 'business'. Personal email address. Business email address. Also, Work ... Company ... Corporate ... School/College/University/Institutional ... |
Thank you~
