"Underlined" in Spanish
Hola.
If I want to translate: "Irregular forms are underlined." What exactly could I say? > Formas irregulares son subrayado. > Formas irregulares aparecen subrayado. P.S. I use the participle/gerund/whatever "subrayado" in the above sentences, though I'm not sure if there exists a varying adjective that is more preferable to use. i.e. Formas irregulares son subrayadas. |

(Las) formas irregulares aparecen subrayadas (Las) formas irregulares se muestran subrayadas oral both + Las formas irregulares están subrayadas |
Muchas gracias.
I still don't know when to use el participio which is invariant vs the corresponding adjective, but maybe that's a discussion for another thread. |
"el subrayado indica las formas irregulares " ---> subrayado/s = noun
"las formas irregulares se muestran subrayadas" ---> subrayado/a/os/as = adjective "las formas irregulares se han subrayado para su mejor identificación" ---> subrayado = (participio) If you just said "subrayado", I (we?)'d only think of a noun. |
