¿Cómo se dice..?

"When we came here the first time, we couldn't believe how many floors there were." (In a big shop.)

"Cuando vinimos aquí por la primera vez no podíamos creer cuantos pisos hubiera."

"Cuando vinimos aquí por la primera vez no podíamos creer cuantos pisos había."

or

"Cuando vinimos aquí por la primera vez no podíamos creer que hubiera tantos pisos."

Either you couldn't believe what was patently true (indicative) or a true notion couldn't get its way into your mind (subjunctive):

lo veía [que tenía tantos pisos] pero no podía creerlo (both true)
lo veía pero no podía creer que tuviera tantos pisos (both true, but not in my mind)
