dirección = address?

Hi I am confused over the Spanish translation here

And what is your address here in Barcelona
Y cuál es su dirección aguí en Barcelona

dirección is direction I assume as in how do I find a place. Is this right for asking for someone's address?

Very correct. The translation of 'address' is dirección. The translation of 'direction' is dirección.

Ok well I am struggling on this. If I am asking the directions to a place I am also asking for it's address in a different way! In both cases I am asking where something or someone or something is.

The context in which the word is used lets your audience know what you're talking about. Many, if not all, languages have words that have more than one meaning, and about the only way to tell them apart is the context in which they are used.

Here are some English words that all have more than one meaning:
watch, duck, down, bat, club, nail, sick, fire, cast, well, glass, jam, iron, park, sink

You'll have to use a different Spanish word for each of the meanings.

Here are some Spanish words that all have more than one meaning:
este, ese, llama, ama, vino, sol, muñeca, oro, blanco, vela, como, cara, alto, banco, traje

You'll have to use a different English word for each of the meanings.
