I like reading a lot. Mostly books on languages, or travel.

I love reading all kinds of material. Fiction, non-fiction, short stories-- all kinds of things.

I read all kinds, but I don't like horror.
Short stories: Kipling, Chejov
Fantasy: Tolkien, Terry Prattchett
Historical: lots of...
comics, manga, newaspapers, glass bottles, prospects,...........everything

Me encanta leer, pero quando empiezo un libro nuevo, no quiero dejarlo, quiero terminarlo muy rápido.

Leo todos los tipos de libros, me gusta más las autobiografías.

Mi autora favorita es una inglesa, que se llama Maeve Binchy, se escribe libros narrativa.

Ayer he terminado un libro de Ross Kemp, que se llama "Gangs" es de un documental,
fue muy interesante. ( what l want to say is, that the book is from a documentary )

I have just bought Diccionario Cambridge Compact para estudiantes de inglés - a little on the expensive at 27.50 euros but I think worth it (sorry i know this question was for David !! - hope you don't mind the suggestion)

I thought that it might help me understand words from a Spanish perspective.

I have just finished reading 'The Ghosts of Spain by Graeme Tremlett' and found it fascinating.
I am now reading Cuenta Cuentos Billingúe - tres obras de la literatura infantil. tres clásicos. little red riding hood (Caperucita Roja) beauty and the beast (bella y la bestia) and Puss in boots (el gato con botas). I hope it will help me understand a little more of this wonderful language that I am struggling with !!

Thanks very much for the info, l have a small collins at the moment thats not very extensive, l think a good dictionary is essential for language learning. I will see if l can get the one you suggest sent to me.

I like read books about informatics and also cars, I think that we all must read some book because it can helps us to learn more above our language, for example I like read awfully text that are wrote in English, so I can to learn more words in English and knows things above another places of my world, I think that read books in the language that you are learning is good so you can learn to write and speak faster.

I have the HarperCollins Unabridged in my office for reference. It's about 5 inches thick, but worth it. For a more portable dictionary, I like the New World Spanish/English Dictionary by Salvatore Ramondino. It's a pocket-sized paperback, albeit a little on the thick side as well, but it's easy to carry around and quite comprehensive. (I also like the typeface, but I guess I shouldn't be revealing those idiosyncracies :D) Those are the two dictionaries I would recommend.

Ok. It's nice that you always are reading some book, instead I only carry a book that is a dictionary of English and Spanish, but it good, because he has helped me a lot when I need him.

Corrections above. There is no gender associated with most inanimate objects in English. The pronoun we use is it.
