(We need the conjunction "que" here because you have two conjugated verbs, so the sentence is incomplete without a linking word between them.
Also, the use of "una" here is different from your other examples, because you're using a noun before the adjective, so there must be an article introducing it in the sentence.)

When you express a person's character through an adjective that can become a noun, you can use the article:

- Juan es (un) ateo.
- Tu hermano es (un) idiota.
- Todos los políticos son (unos) ignorantes.

...but when the adjective cannot be used as a noun, there is no article:

- Eres inteligente.
- El señor López es amable.
- Esta flor es linda.
- La pregunta es simple.

Eso tiene sentido. "I know THAT it is A simple question."
