¡Hola todos!

¡Hola todos!

I've come back to learning Spanish after a long gap, and this time on a concerted basis rather than from a travel phrasebook! I look forward to exchanging things here and learning a lot.

Cheers! Boston. Very nice city, and I'm not all that fond of cities.

Ah, so you've visited, I presume? It's a good tourist destination, and a fine place to visit during spring and fall, and not quite as overwhelming as some of the larger cities in the US such as New York, Chicago or Los Angeles.

I visited on business from England. I had previously lived in LA for over 10 years, and there's no comparison in terms of having soul. Boston has real character.

The two cities have very different histories, of course, but metro Boston has grown more slowly over a longer period of time compared to the city and county of Los Angeles. Almost all of LA's population growth has been since 1900, while Boston was already an old and large city by then.
