What's the difference?

Hello everybody!
I'd like to know the difference in meaning between these two sentences:
My school is a sports college.
My school goes to a sports college.

"My school is a sports college" defines the type of school of your school.

"My school goes to a sports college" does not make sense to me.

You may say: My school goes to a sports college to practice on their soccer field.
