madera - feminine noun (la) - wood. Look up madera in the dictionary

Si la madera sube de precio, lo construiré de piedra.
If wood prices go up I'll build it out of stone.

If what I type on the daily word is irrelevent to the thread - please forgive or correct me !

But have you heard the saying 'put the wood in the hole' which again is english slang for 'shut the door'
