Why are you all here?
Hi,
I'm trying to translate this out of my textbook I'm working through but it gives the answer with the vosotros conjugation estáis and therefore there is no need to include 'vosotros' in the translation. My problem is understanding where pronoun would be placed should it have to be included. Should I choose to use the ustedes conjugation están would the translation be either: 1. ¿Por qué están ustedes aquí? Or 2. ¿Por qué están aquí ustedes? If someone can answer with an explanation also it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, LJM |
Either position you used for the pronoun is fine.
(And it can also precede the verb.) I would use the second sentence you wrote over the first one, because I think it flows better, and I would avoid placing the pronoun before the verb in an interrogative (even though it is plausible grammar). |
Thanks Rusty :)
