Translating help

i'm translating a large amount of text for (A Level) spanish hwk and im not sure about a phrase

does "han dedicado a ver la televisión 3 horas y 30 minutos de media al día" mean they're dedicated to watching TV 3 and a half hours.......

but im not sure what "de media al día" part means :thinking:

The construction is strange, but "media" here is the statistical mean, the average. :)
