This morning my phone was low on funds
I'm trying to express that I couldn't make or receive calls because my phone was out of balance this morning ( I needed to refill the monthly balance on the phone service.) I can't even think of how to say this in English right now  ... Not "low on funds" but completely out of funds.
How to express this in Spanish? Maybe something like this: "Hoy me tocó recargar la balanza del telefono. Estaba sin servício." |

ah! perfect. brain freeze, I couldn't even figure that out in English.

Poli's translation is fine. It also works for bank accounts.
In Mexico, we use "crédito" for pre-paid items such as cellphones, transport cards, and the like. |
