Sentir vs sentirse

Sentir vs sentirse

I feel awful today:

• Me siento fatal hoy.
• Siento fatal hoy.

Are both of these grammatically correct?

Many thanks in advance.

In that context "siento fatal hoy" is wrong. The other phrase is the only correct.

If you say "siento fatal hoy", you would need a DO complement: what are you feeling awful today?
"Me" is explicit as to who's feeling what. :)

I thought so, thanks a million, people. I had heard siento fatal before in the south of Spain, but I had a feeling it was incorrect.
