Is there any difference?

Hello everybody,

I would like if there is any difference between:
- general stock exchange
- general stock exchanges

I am not sure which one is better.

Thank you in advance

Yes. As a noun in most contexts, including in these two expressions, the word "exchange" is countable.

As a singular countable noun, "General stock exchange" requires an article or another determiner, such as "a/the", "this/that", "my/your/our/his/her/their", and so on, and it refers to a business that brokers the sale of stock from one third party to a different third party.

"General stock exchanges" refers to more than one "general stock exchange".
