p.53 It was an old-fashioned cobblers.

What does cobblers mean? If cobblers means nonsense, then, just like claptrap, nonsense, etc. only the singular form without a/an should be used.

Cobbler is another word for shoemaker.

The plural, as used here, can only mean the cobbler shop.
