New to Spanish

New to Spanish

I've just begun a Spanish class, and am trying to get as much exposure to the language as possible.

My primary language is English but I live in Texas and we have a lot of people here who speak Spanish, so I think it would be very handy.

I have a lot of trouble with pronunciation, but then, a lot of people say that we Texans have that trouble with English! Hopefully, it'll get better.

Welcome!!!

The nice thing about Spanish is the pronunciation. Once you learn how, you can pronoun ANY Spanish word correctly.

Hi

I live in Sun City in Georgetown, and a bunch of us old geezers are taking a Spanish class so we can try to communicate with a lot of people that work in the area. Wish me luck!

Howard

Thanks for the encouragement!

hey, I was just like you, doing Spanish for the first time (but I actually know some Spanish already ;))
and though I am kinda struggling, it isn't that bad.
You will find out that a lot of words look like the translation of English. Like, fantastic, fabulous, intellegent, and many more.
;) Good luck learning Spanish. It is hard for me but I still enjoy it.
Good luck with your class!!

That is not true for me. Some words I cannot pronounce very well.

JChen

I'm sure you can pronounce English much better than I could pronounce Chinese! Just look at the bright side - if both of us mispronounce our Spanish in the same way, at least we could understand each other - Verdad?

Welcome Howard. :)
