Below, I've corrected what you wrote. I hope the explanations help.

Soy un jubilado abogado
Soy un abogado jubilado (the adjective follows the noun in most cases)
estudiar espanol
estudiando español (the present participle (gerundio, en español), studying, is used instead of the infinitive, to study)(use the 'Accents' drop-down menu to select accented vowels and other special characters - if you don't see the 'Accents' drop-down menu, click 'Go Advanced')
y me gusto a practicar.
y me gustaría practicar. (me gusto = I like myself, me gusta practicar = I like to practice, me gustaría practicar = I would like to practice)(when an infinitive follows gustar, there is no preposition)

Soy muy nuevo in este,
Soy muy nuevo en esto,
pero
y (pero shouldn't be used here, as it introduces a contrast to what was stated in the first clause)
me gusto alguno sugerencia de usted.
me gustarían cualquier sugerencias suyas. (me gustarían = I would like (as stated above), but this time the subject is plural, so the plural ending is used in the verb)(cualquier = any (shortened form used before nouns) algunas = some (feminine plural form, because sugerencias is plural (and feminine))(suyas = your (feminine plural form))

Bienvenido hwils66 :D
Rusty, great translation & explanation, but the last point.

me gustaria recibir cualquier sugerencia suya. "
but I would like (to receive) any suggestions from you.

saludos :D

It does sound better with the verb recibir. Thanks, Sosia!

You suggested sugerencia, but translated it as suggestions. Is the plural understood in Spanish?

sosia October 17, 2008 07:37 AM

me gustaria recibir cualquier sugerencia suya
you can say
"me gustaría recibir sugerencias suyas."
saying "cualquier sugerencia" it's more polite (saying "sugerencias" somebody can think you're really asking for a lot of suggestions"
saludos :D

Many thanks to all. This was very helpful.

Thanks again, Sosia.
