"I wrote 7 text messages today" = "He escribí siete mensaje de texto el hoy" ?

"I wrote 7 text messages today" = "He escribí siete mensaje de texto el hoy" ?
 

It dosen't feel right when I write it in Spanish but I'm struggling to see what I'm doing wrong with the translation.

Does this:
"I wrote 7 text messages today."
translate into this:
"He escribí siete mensaje de texto el hoy." ?

escribí = I wrote
he escrito = I have written

mensajes = messages
mensajes de texto = text messages

hoy = today

So it should be " He escribido siete mensajes de texto hoy" ?

or

he escrito (if you're learning Spanish for Spain)

So If I want to write " I have written 7 text messages today."
It should be " He escrito siete mensajes de texto hoy." ?
And yes this is meant to be Spanish for spain. :)
