Quitarse la carreta

I think it means to lose reason, but I'm not sure. Is the phrase familiar to you?

:thinking: This is probably "quitarse la careta" (only one "r"). It means to take your mask off; you are finally showing yourself as you really are, and not being hypocritical anymore.

quitarse la careta = stop feigning / show one's true colours / reveal one's true concealed intentions
