Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Savings Time

This is kinda of a stupid question. For most parts of the US, we will have to move our time back one hour tomorrow.

I still don't understand the DST thing. How does it work? Why do we have it? Who 'invented' it? :thinking: :confused:

This year the DST was really long...I've seen it in the news.... for some reason...

Anyways, we will move back our clock one hour, as I already said, which means we get 1 hour extra sleep! :D

I kinda understand now... there are 2 states that don't do it. We do it to save energy

Jessica. It's the same, you won't sleep 1 hour more, remember it.

what do you mean? I will sleep one hour more because we will move the clock back 1 hour. :confused:

It was invented after 1973, when gasoline became so expensive it almost cracked western economies, in order to save energy, fuel for heating systems and power for lights. It's one of my first childhood memories about something debated in public, the spanish government always marketed it as something very intelligent.
China does not do it, and they often criticise western countries for doing it.

Don´t hit your head so hard, HP. There´re still those of us who permanently write and speak British English.

I try not to. I think it's too classy for me, Canada and Ireland left some print on my english.
I'm a think tank, Jane, I'm sorry....:footinmouth::footinmouth::footinmouth:

Jessica, I try to tell you that you won't sleep more of one hour, because it's the same, if you back the clock one hour the first day yes you will sleep 1 hour more, anyway the other day, you will wake up the same hour as all days earlier even so, you have backed 1 hour, in resume, you only imagine that the hour the same, it never change nor you won't sleep more or less, always you will sleep the same time as all the days, I don't know if I explain you well, but I hope you understand me.

La hora es la misma nunca dormiras mas ni menos, si tu atrasas tu reloj una hora el primer dia, si dormiras una hora mas o menos, pero al otro dia tu te aconstumbras y la hora siempre quedara siendo la misma.

oh okay. got it :) :)
