In each item below, decide whether the underlined term is used correctly. In the blank after each item, write "yes" if the term is used correctly. If the term is not used correctly, write the correct term.

1. Materials that remain in the environment indefinitely are called biodegradable. No - nonbiodegradable

2. When certain pollutants in the air combine with water vapor to produce drops of acid, the result is the greenhouse effect. No - acid rain

3. The ozone layer protects the Earth from harmful UV radiation from the sun. Yes

I think you got them all correct. I'm not sure on numbers 5 and 7. (though 7 mostly.)

Agree with LRW.
I would say 5 is water pollution (look here) (or industrial/factory pollution)
and 7 not sure. I suppose yes.
