Para gustos, los colores.
A mí no me gusta.

It is another example of clientelism within the European Union. Not ugly though, not something I would travel to see...

I wish it would be better. So much time went into it, but to me it looks like a pizza with blue food coloring in it turned upside down while the cheese is still molten.

I like art most when it is accompanied by fine craftsmanship even though this may inhibit expression to an extent. The work seems a little crude.

Yes, it's pretty, the colors reflect a lot light, but I don't know where is this place.

Poli, you tell me, Where is that place?

Está ubicada en la ciudad de Ginebra en Suisa. Es el cielo de una cúpula
que pertenece a un edificio principal del ONU.

Thank you for the information.

I've heard of Geneva before! In S.S. class and in English class. :D
Did they build it or something?

poli November 19, 2008 05:39 AM

It's a big modern building with a dome built for the UN in Geneva Switzerland dedicated to human rights. An artist Miquel Barceló was comissioned to paint a mural in the ceiling of the dome. This ceiling is now contaversial because of cost overruns and its haphazard appearance.

I tend to not like abstract art all that much...

sosia November 20, 2008 12:24 AM

I do not have seen it, but I think I like it. I found good to have a diiferent view in each seat, ant to be in the middle of a sea.
¿The price? I'm not an expert. I suppose there are experts in that fact and if they have payed so, the price is Ok.I prefer to pay that as to pay for expensive cars/offices/dinners.
The controversy here was because some money for other proyects that Spain gives to the ONU was "redirected" to the Chapel. I hope they give the money back and "fin del tema".
I prefer paintings "with fine craftsmanship", as Poli says, but in modern art, Barceló has at least more taste than others I have see.

saludos :D
