Dar de alta
Does fue dada de alta del hospital mean was released from the hospital?
|
Yes, you've got it, and I've added it to the idiom dictionary. One thing to note, is that it's always alta regardless of the gender of the person:
Le dieron de alta a mi papá. - My mom was released. Le dieron de alta a mi mamá. - My dad was released. |
Yes, Poli, for example A mi amigo le dieron de alta en el hospital hoy, it would be translate My friend was released from the hospital today.
I never hope are in a hospital, I don't like the hospitals. |
Darse de alta also means register with
Se dio de alta en Tomisimo |
Thanks for mentioning that Planet Hopper. "dar de alta" and "darse de alta" are very different- almost opposites.
