Esquina
This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for November 27, 2008
esquina - feminine noun (la) - corner. Look up esquina in the dictionary Dando vuelta a la esquina, encontrarás una tienda de abarrotes. Turning the corner, you'll find a grocery store. |
Dando vuelta a la esquina, encontrarás una tienda de abarrotes
So esquina means "corner", tienda de abarrotes mean "grocery store"... does encontrarás mean "find"? does dando vuelta mean "turning"? |
That translate is very weir for me, sometimes I don't understand some translate in English, corner (Esquina), grocery store (tienda de abarrates), my father had a grocery store four years ago.
The grocery corner, when the guys arrived to sunbathing, it was named the La Guadalupana, and the grocery store was in a corner of the street Belisario Dominguez. |
I guess it means to turn the corner of a street in a car. ;)
|
Yes, I guess that, for example your home is on the corner of supermarket.
