¿Qué te gusta hacer? VS ¿Qué le gusta hacer?
Hola, amigos de Tomisimo!
I got a very basic grammar ( or maybe comprehending ) question for you:) I have seen ¿Qué te gusta hacer? and ¿Qué le gusta hacer? in some daily conversations, but these two both happened in the same context, that is, a face to face and one by one conversation. While there are only two people involved in the conversation, why we use ¿Qué le gusta hacer? . I mean, how should I understand the le in the sentence? Thank you in advance!!;) |
Both pronouns are indirect object pronouns.
te = you (informal) le = you (formal) One person is treating the other on an informal basis, while that person is treating the other on a formal basis. In other words, one person is commanding more respect. |
That's really clear to me now!
Thank you, Rusty! |
