presentación means business? it looks like presentation It's a cognate. In this case it translates a little better as introduction. So, a business card in Spanish is an "introduction card" like a letter of introduction in English :P

A birthday card is una carta de cumpleaños.

A birthday card is also called una tarjeta de cumpleaños. :)

The card also could to be a car of your parents a post card or family card, when you sent a card to your brother or parents also grandfather, then I think the card could to be a family card.

Correction:

The card could also be a card from your parents, a postcard, or a family card. When you send a card to your brother, parents, or grandfather, I think that the card could be called a family card.

I like to play cards = Me gusta jugar tarjetas

Is this right? Or is the word for cards different in this case?

Good call. I've known for years I leave out definite articles, you'd think I could correct the problem :(

Jessica December 12, 2008 04:31 PM

This is going pretty far off-topic, since this thread is about the word tarjeta, but to answer you, I don't know why I sometimes leave them out.
