Billete
This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for December 13, 2008
billete - masculine noun (el) - bill. Look up billete in the dictionary ¡Soy rico! ¡Tengo tres billetes de a veinte dólares! I'm rich! I've got three twenty-dollar bills! |
another cognate I've got 3 $20 bills...thats $60 total..that is a lot |
bills have another meaning : in spanish is deuda .for example I have to pay all my bills. .
yes bills could mean that too.
ok, thanks. because I was confused.
The possible translate of the sentence would be, Soy rico porque tengo 23 dolares.
It's actually
Soy rico porque tengo sesenta dolares. |
Yes, I forget the word bills. I'm sorry.
you didn't forget the bills...it's actually $60 not $23 because there are three $20 bills, and that is a total of $60. you just got the $ amount wrong, that's all. and it's okay. Everyone makes mistakes ;) :)
In Spain billete means ticket--as in theater ticket. Everywhere else the word to use is boleto.
