What is wrong with chatting with friends online (and you don't know them) and you promise your self that you will never ever give away personal info (and you don't)?
I do that but Mom is against it. Also, I know I will never meet someone I don't know (boys especially) because I remember I learned it was very dangerous....

This question has been addressed before. You know you need to be careful with personal information. You NEVER know who you're talking with online. :)

I know. I never give away personal info, so what's wrong with chatting online, if you don't give away your info?

Talk to your mom about it. It's impossible for us to say what her reasons are.

That's right Jchen..... your mother is the only person that can tell you why. Parents make decisions for their children hoping they are doing the right thing. Children will always (for the most part) be not happy about these decisions.

Communication is your best tool.
