swollen finger!!!!!
When I woke up today my right hand felt really odd. Then I realized my crooked middle finger was swollen. I hurried downstairs to tell my mom.
Mom said it was some kind of tumor, and that I possibly had a disease called NF-1. There were other signs that I had it. if one of your finger bends out of shape and does not heal, then you may have NF-1. That's what happened to my right middle finger. It suddenly became crooked when I was very young. It is going to cost a lot to see what's wrong with my finger. I didn't have an accident with my finger. I didn't have it yesterday. It just suddenly appeared. :worried: does anyone know if this could actually be NF-1? |
It doesn't sound like NF-1 to me, from what I've read about it.
Sudden inflammation of a finger (even a crooked one) doesn't sound like one of the indicators that accompany the disease, so I doubt you have it. Check with your doctor, though, if the swelling doesn't subside (you can take an anti-inflammatory). |
uhh I have spots.
and how did I get my crooked finger? I never broke it. |
Sounds like you might have already been diagnosed by a doctor or have read that one of the indications is coffee-with-milk-colored spots. There are also freckles associated with the disease, and other indicators.
Crooked fingers can be caused by a number of different things. I read that NF-1 causes disparate leg and arm sizes because of where it attacks. Crooked fingers were not mentioned in what I studied, but that doesn't mean anything. One thing's for certain, I'm not a doctor. You should ask him/her what's going on. |
It's important not to try to diagnose yourself. You should go to a doctor for a diagnosis. An initial visit shouldn't be too expensive and the doctor should be able to tell you if there is anything wrong or not, or refer you to a specialist.
